Please note that this instruction assumes that you already have a Salesforce loyalty program set up.
Quick Start Zap Template
Here is the step-by-step guide
Before you begin setting up your Zap, it’s essential to ensure your Salesforce and Stadium accounts are correctly connected to Zapier.
Navigate to the Apps Section:
- In Zapier, go to the "Apps" section from the sidebar.
Add Connections:
- If your Salesforce and Stadium accounts are not connected, click the + Add Connection button.
Please follow the prompts to authenticate your Salesforce and Stadium accounts with Zapier. You may need to log in and allow access.
Once your accounts are connected, you can create the Zap to send loyalty points from Salesforce Loyalty to Stadium.
Create a New Zap and Name It
- Now, Let's create a new Zap and add an appropriate name.
Step 1:
The first step is to monitor new transactions in the loyalty ledger within Salesforce. This step is crucial as it triggers the entire automation whenever a new record is created in the loyalty ledger, ensuring that all relevant point-related activities are captured.
- App & Event: Choose "New Record" as the event that starts the Zap.
-
Trigger: Select "Loyalty Ledger" as the object you want to monitor. This ensures that the Zap triggers whenever a new transaction is logged in the loyalty ledger.
Step 2: Filter Debit Transactions
In the next step, we'll add a filter to ensure that only transactions where points are being redeemed (debit transactions) are processed. This helps narrow the data down to only relevant transactions involving the deduction of loyalty points we need to transfer to the Stadium.
Choose Filter by Zapier: Select "Filter by Zapier" from the list of popular built-in tools.
Set Up Filter:
Condition: Add a condition where Event Type
contains "Debit."
NOTE: You don’t want to send points for all redemptions—only those created explicitly for Stadium through a designated currency and promotion. If you are running multiple loyalty programs, you may need to identify the correct Loyalty Program before sending points
In steps 3 and 4, we'll find the email address of the person to whom the points need to be transferred. Stadium requires the email and the points for the transfer to be completed successfully.
Step 3: Look for Loyalty Program Member Contact ID
In this step, you will search for the Contact ID associated with the Loyalty Program Member ID. The Contact ID is essential for retrieving the email address to transfer points to Stadium.
-
App & Event: Select "Find Record" as the event type. This tells Zapier to search for a specific record within Salesforce.
2. Salesforce Object: Choose "Loyalty Program Member" as the object to search. This is where the member information is stored.
3. In the field to search by, select "Loyalty Program Member ID." This is the unique identifier for the member whose points are being transferred.
4. Search Value: Use the Loyalty Program Member ID obtained from the previous steps to ensure you’re looking up the correct member.
5. Result: This search retrieves the Contact ID associated with the Loyalty Program Member, which will be used to find the corresponding email address in the next step.
Step 4: Look for the Email of the User from the Contact ID
In this step, you'll need to use the Contact ID obtained in Step 3 to find the email address associated with the user. The email is essential for transferring the points to the correct recipient in Stadium.
